Who is behind Flarekeep
Flarekeep is a personal project, made and published by one person in Spain. There is no company behind it. Nothing is sold here: the app is a free download with a 3-day trial, and license keys are not on sale yet.
Under the GDPR, the person responsible for the little personal data this site collects (the controller) is:

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA, EU edge network). When license keys do go on sale, the seller will be Lemon Squeezy LLC, acting as merchant of record: they take the payment, issue the invoice, charge the VAT and handle refunds. This page will be updated with the full business details before anything is charged.
This website and your data
Short version: no cookies, no accounts. We count downloads anonymously, and if you type your email in the pricing section we keep it until we have sent you the one message it is for, then delete it.
No cookies
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
Anonymous analytics
When you click a download button, the site sends one event to PostHog (PostHog Inc., hosted in the EU, Frankfurt) with the button's section and the app version, under a random identifier generated for that page visit and forgotten when you leave. There is no fingerprinting and no cross-site tracking. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing whether the download works and where people click. Retention: 12 months, then deleted.
The email form
If you leave your email address in the pricing section, it is stored in the same EU PostHog project, and used for exactly one thing: sending you a single message the day license keys go on sale, with the link and the price. Legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the form. Retention: until that message is sent, then the address is deleted. You can withdraw at any time by writing to the email above, and we delete it on request. The address is never shared, sold or used for anything else, and there is no newsletter.
Server logs
Like any host, Vercel keeps short-lived access logs (IP address, requested page, user agent) to run and secure the service. Legal basis: legitimate interest. We do not use them for anything.
Where the data goes
- Vercel Inc. hosting and logs.
- PostHog Inc. (EU hosting) download counts and the email form.
- GitHub Inc. serves the download file itself; GitHub sees the request when you download.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces; Google sees your IP when they load.
PostHog is used under its EU hosting; Vercel, GitHub and Google are US companies covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
The app and your data
Short version: Flarekeep runs on your computer and has no server of its own. Your profile, jobs, applications and documents live in a folder under your Windows user account. We never see them. The app talks to the outside world only for four things, all of them under your control.
What stays on your computer
Everything the app stores: your profile, the job postings it collects, match scores, generated CVs and cover letters, interview notes, settings and any API key you enter. It is a local SQLite database and a folder of files under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Flarekeep. Back it up, move it or delete it as you like; there is no copy anywhere else.
What the app sends, and to whom
- Your AI provider. To score a job, write a document or prepare an interview, the app sends the relevant parts of your profile and the job posting to the AI provider you chose in Settings (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, OpenAI or xAI), using your own account or API key. That data is handled under that provider's terms and privacy policy, not ours; pick a provider you trust with a CV. Nothing goes to an AI provider until you have configured one.
- Job boards. When you search, the app fetches postings from the job boards you selected, from your machine, the way a browser would. Those sites see your IP address.
- GitHub. On "Check for updates" the app asks GitHub for the latest release number. GitHub sees your IP address; nothing about you is sent.
- Gmail (optional). If you connect Gmail, the app creates drafts in your own account through Google's API and stores the access token on your computer. You can disconnect at any time from Settings or from your Google account.
- License activation (when keys go on sale). Entering a license key will send the key and an anonymous machine identifier to Lemon Squeezy to check it is valid. That is the whole exchange.
The app sends no telemetry, no crash reports and no usage statistics to us. We have no way to know that you use it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. For this website that data is, at most, your email address in the form above. Write to the email in the first section and we answer within a month. You can also complain to the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD, aepd.es).
For the data the app keeps on your computer, you exercise every one of those rights yourself: it is your file.
Terms of use
Short version: the app is free to try for 3 days, provided as it is, and the documents it drafts are yours to check before you send them.
The trial and the license
Flarekeep for Windows is free to download and runs with every feature for 3 days from the first launch, with no account and no payment details. After that it asks for a license key. License keys are not on sale yet; when they are, the price, the refund policy and the seller's terms will be published on this page and on the pricing section before anything is charged.
A license is personal and non-transferable, valid for the machines it is activated on, and includes every update of the app. It does not include the AI provider's costs, which you pay to that provider under your own account.
What you are responsible for
- The AI drafts; you decide. Every CV, letter and answer the app produces is a draft for you to review. Check it before you send it under your name.
- Your use of job boards and AI providers is subject to their own terms. The app runs those requests from your machine, on your behalf.
- Keep your own backup of the Flarekeep folder. There is no copy on any server.
No warranty
The app is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind beyond what consumer law requires. We are not liable for lost data, missed applications or any indirect damage arising from its use; where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the license.
Changes and law
We may update this page; the date at the top says when. Spanish law applies, and any dispute goes to the courts of the owner's domicile, without prejudice to the rights consumers have under EU law.
